Nicht nur beim Native-Speaker-Workshop der zweiten Klassen zum Schulstart, im gesamten Schuljahr spielt die Sprechkompetenz der Schüler/innen der Praxis-HAK Völkermarkt in der Fremdsprache Englisch eine bedeutende Rolle. Daher freuen wir uns, mit Milena Kagel auch in diesem Jahr eine Sprachassistentin aus den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika im Team begrüßen zu dürfen.

My name is Milena and I’ll be working as an English Teaching Assistant at the Praxis-HAK this year. I hope to be a useful resource for students who want to improve their English and are curious about American culture.

I grew up in the southeastern state of Georgia, before moving north to Ohio for college. Although I expect my students may be more interested in hearing about California and New York, I hope to get them interested in the American South and Midwest as well.

In my free time, I like to run, cook, read and play guitar. My interests include music, foreign languages and cultures, popular culture and history.

I recently graduated from Oberlin College, where I studied History and German Studies. I knew I wanted to go abroad after college and am thrilled to be in Austria! I have always been interested in teaching and am excited to learn from the teachers at the Praxis-HAK and gain classroom experience this year.
